Arethusa Cottage Holiday Lodges Claimed

We stayed in Monktonmead at Arethusa cottages and had a great time. The lodge was perfect for our needs, very comfortable. Loved the garden which creates such a lovely relaxing atmosphere, especially by the pond. The indoor pool was fabulous. We went swimming every day. We took our young adult children who loved the pool. The hosts were extremely helpful and very friendly. Location is great, quiet within in a nature reserve which is good for walks but also near the town of Ryde and also great for getting around the rest of the island. Would thoroughly recommend this place! We loved it.

Sue and Paul are such great hosts and made us feel so welcome. The cabins are so lovely and cozy, as well as being very neat & tidy. The pool is a great size and has lots of inflatable toys! Overall I had a lovely stay and I would highly recommend to anyone 🙂

Sue and Paul welcomed us with a freinly smile. Showed us the facilities and our lodge. Whole place is kept wonderfully clean. We had a fab long weekend and already booked our return in 2025. Definitely recommend Arethusa Lodges, especially as dog friendly.

Wonderful accommodation. From start to finish we were delighted with the cottages. We stayed in Woodside and had plenty of room. It’s well appointed with everything you’d need and more for a stay. The swimming pool was a highlight – we swum everyday and it’s bigger than the pictures suggest (you could do a ‘proper’ swim). The fact it was heated was great in November. Well located and easy to find – a perfect base to explore the island and near to Ryde/Fishbourne ferry port. Good advice and info on the website. Paul and Sue are consummate hosts – friendly, welcoming and clear but then left to own devices. Just the right balance between welcoming and free. I enjoyed exploring around the nature reserve and saw rabbits and lots of pretty trees. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at the Lodge. Sue and Paul were great, such a lovely couple and made us feel relaxed immediately. We will be staying again, it is like your own secret garden but close to everything in Ryde. It was immaculate in terms of cleanliness, warm and cosy too. We stayed at Monktonmead lodge, one of the two lodges available at Arethusa Cottages. It was a beautiful location and we felt like we were in a cabin on a lovely remote mountainside. The cabin was really lovely and so cosy. There was all necessary modern features and the lovely hosts even had left milk in the fridge for us. The icing on the cake however, was the amazing heated swimming pool next to our lodge. We spent a few hours in there – absolutely brilliant. I would thoroughly recommend staying here if visiting the I.O.W.

We had the most wonderful family getaway at Monktonmead Lodge to celebrate my birthday, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. As a teacher, I was really looking forward to a peaceful and relaxing break—and this place was everything I had hoped for and more. The lodge is beautifully maintained, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, with every comfort in mind. The private pool was a huge hit with our children, and my husband and I loved how calm and serene the surroundings were. One of my favourite spots was the lovely pond area, where I enjoyed my morning tea—it was the perfect way to start each day. Sue and Paul were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel so welcome. Their care and attention really added to the warm and peaceful atmosphere of the lodge. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to celebrate my birthday. Thank you for helping us create such special family memories—we’ll definitely be back!

We’ve loved our stay at Arethusa cottages. We came this year (and last year too) we stayed in Monktonmead cottage with my family of six. It feels like you are staying in a place where there are no others anywhere near. Nestled away in a little secluded spot and with the amazing advantage of having a big pool between the two cottages with all of the joys that the IOW brings. Sue and Paul are such lovely people who made our stay feel like being a home away from home. Thank you for having us and we look forward to seeing you again.

Sue and Paul, what fantastic hosts you are. There were 6 of us that had a 7 night stay. 2 in Woodside and 4 of us in Monktonmead. Location is perfect. The lodges are set in a beautiful garden with a lovely chill out area around the pond. The pool is a great highlight. Maybe a shower in the pool area could be useful. (That is a suggestion not a criticism.) There are some lovely thoughtful touches in both lodges. As it is a self catering holiday I packed foil, oil, salt & pepper, umbrellas, tea, coffee, sugar, toilet rolls and kitchen towel. Everything was already in the lodges. We even coped with the bunk beds!!! You thing of everything and make us feel so welcome. Thank you for everything. We will definitely be booking again in the future
