Arethusa Cottage Holiday Lodges offers two self catering lodges:
Monktonmead Lodge sleeping up to 6 and Woodside Lodge sleeping up to 4 (dog friendly). They can be booked independently or together, which is ideal for extended families / groups of friends.
These are set in the owners’ garden with each lodge having its own outdoor space / seating / bbq. They share use of the large garden which includes a koi pond with seating areas. Guests enjoy watching the red squirrels, bird (blue tits, jays, woodpeckers and more) and rabbit visitors to the garden.
The lodges share use of a 9m x 5m indoor heated pool. This is open daytime and evenings all year round.
Off road parking is available for 3-4 cars.
The properties have no immediate neighbours and are set in a secluded area on the edge of Pig Leg Lane Nature Reserve, with dog walking from the doorstep. Ryde town and beach are within walking distance too.
Trade rate ferry travel is offered with Wightlink and Red Funnel.
Unfortunately the lodges are not suitable for those with restricted mobility as there are a number of steps from the guest gate down to the lodges. Please check the website for photos.
Wonderful accommodation. From start to finish we were delighted with the cottages. We stayed in Woodside and had plenty of room. It’s well appointed with everything you’d need and more for a stay. The swimming pool was a highlight – we swum everyday and it’s bigger than the pictures suggest (you could do a ‘proper’ swim). The fact it was heated was great in November. Well located and easy to find – a perfect base to explore the island and near to Ryde/Fishbourne ferry port. Good advice and info on the website. Paul and Sue are consummate hosts – friendly, welcoming and clear but then left to own devices. Just the right balance between welcoming and free. I enjoyed exploring around the nature reserve and saw rabbits and lots of pretty trees. Highly recommended.
Sue and Paul welcomed us with a freinly smile. Showed us the facilities and our lodge. Whole place is kept wonderfully clean. We had a fab long weekend and already booked our return in 2025. Definitely recommend Arethusa Lodges, especially as dog friendly.
Sue and Paul are such great hosts and made us feel so welcome. The cabins are so lovely and cozy, as well as being very neat & tidy. The pool is a great size and has lots of inflatable toys! Overall I had a lovely stay and I would highly recommend to anyone 🙂
We stayed in Monktonmead at Arethusa cottages and had a great time. The lodge was perfect for our needs, very comfortable. Loved the garden which creates such a lovely relaxing atmosphere, especially by the pond. The indoor pool was fabulous. We went swimming every day. We took our young adult children who loved the pool. The hosts were extremely helpful and very friendly. Location is great, quiet within in a nature reserve which is good for walks but also near the town of Ryde and also great for getting around the rest of the island. Would thoroughly recommend this place! We loved it.
